The husband of murdered beauty queen Carolina Flores Gómez has allegedly told police he tried to breastfeed their baby from her body after she was killed.
The new mum was shot dead in the face, neck and head on 15 April.
Prosecutors say the victim’s mother-in-law, Erika Maria Herrera, is the main suspect.

She was reportedly inside the home with her son – Carolina’s partner – at the time of the shooting.
Herrera fled after the alleged killing and remains on the run.
Questions have also been raised over a delay in reporting the death.
While the shooting is said to have happened late Wednesday night, it was not reported to police by partner Alejandro until the following day, as reported by Need To Know.

Carolina’s mother, Reyna Gómez Molina, has accused him of keeping the body at home to allow the suspect time to escape.
But he allegedly told authorities he tried to feed their child from Carolina’s body, as she had been breastfeeding at the time.
He also claimed he feared the baby could be taken into care by social services.
Investigators have not yet confirmed the claims.
Alejandro has not been arrested but remains under scrutiny over possible involvement or failure to act due to the delay and his presence at the scene.

It has also been suggested that a multimillion-pound inheritance could be behind the killing.
In 2022, Carolina is believed to have received the large sum following the death of her father, Jorge Flores.
Her family claim Herrera was present when the documents were signed.
Carolina, born in San Diego, was a well-known figure after being crowned Miss Teen Universe for Baja California in 2017, as reported by Need To Know.
She also picked up several local titles in her home city of Ensenada.
The investigation into her death in the upmarket Polanco district of Mexico City is ongoing.
