A two-year-old girl fell to her death from an 11th-floor flat as her dad reportedly slept off a boozy bender.
Little Isidora Constanzo died while in the care of her father during a scheduled visit.
Her dad, Jorge José Francisco Constanzo Chávez, was sleeping in another room with his partner after drinking heavily the night before and earlier that day.

According to reports, he had been out partying on Saturday night until around 6am on Sunday morning (18 May).
He then went to pick up his daughter from his ex-partner’s home for his 10am to 6pm visitation, but arrived nearly an hour late.
Jorge then enjoyed lunch with his girlfriend and child where he reportedly drank alcohol again.

Upon returning to his flat in the Chilean capital Santiago, the couple fell into a deep sleep and allegedly left little Isidora unattended.
She fell from a bedroom window that had no security mesh and was left open, according to reports.
A neighbour heard a “particular impact” around 5.10pm and saw the child on the ground in the parking area below.
The emergency services arrived quickly, but Isidora was pronounced dead at the scene at 5.23pm from polytrauma caused by the fall.

Officers had difficulty identifying the apartment because the child did not live there.
They had to carry out a floor-by-floor search of the complex to locate where she had fallen from.
They eventually woke up the father, who was noticeably intoxicated, some 40 minutes after the incident.
Prosecutors have charged him with homicide by omission, citing extreme negligence.
The window lacked required safety measures that had reportedly been agreed with the mother, and the father failed to secure it despite the known risks.

The custody agreement specifically mandated the father to install a safety net, and he agreed to the condition during family court mediation sessions.
Prosecutor Pamela Valdés told the court the risks were “avoidable” and that the father “should have left the window closed with the latch”.
She noted that the structure of the window made it impossible for the toddler to have opened it herself.
The father was initially detained for identification purposes along with his partner before being formally arrested.
He was remanded in preventive prison following a court hearing, as reported by Need To Know.
Isidora’s mother, Gloria Ortiz, has spoken of the devastating loss, stating that no parent should have to bury a child.
The police said they will investigate the extent of alcohol consumption during the celebration that reportedly began on Saturday night and extended into Sunday.
