Festival-goers watched in disbelief as a group of youngsters scrambled over parked cars and sprinted through traffic in an apparent attempt to sneak into a sold-out Calvin Harris gig.

Dramatic footage shows around 20 teenagers making a run for it after allegedly being turned away from the venue.

Police officers on bicycles were then seen chasing after the would-be gatecrashers as crowds looked on.

The chaotic scenes unfolded outside Calvin Harris’ sold-out concert in Dublin on 27 June, where thousands of fans had gathered to see the chart-topping DJ perform, as reported by Need To Know.

Witness Abbie Clare, 24, said the youngsters appeared to be between 12 and 16 years old.

The hairdresser filmed the commotion after the group were allegedly refused entry.

“The security had just turned them away from the door and then they ran,” Abbie said.

“It was actually the police who went after them.

“A good few of them got away and one or two got caught, but I think the police let them go.”

Footage shows several of the youngsters climbing over vehicles while others dart through crowds as officers attempt to catch up.

Despite the dramatic scenes, Abbie said most people found the spectacle amusing rather than frightening.

She said: “I was amused, to be honest.

“They were only kids and any gig of that kind in Dublin will always have some sort of carnage.

“I wasn’t worried about security at all.”

Abbie said other concert-goers were equally entertained, “just laughing and shocked”, and the incident had no impact on the rest of the evening.

The Scottish DJ is due to perform two homecoming shows at Hampden Park in Glasgow on 1 and 2 August, before heading to Belfast Vital later that month and appearing at Creamfields in Cheshire.

Jam Press has approached Dublin police for comment.
