A double amputee who lost his legs to an infection and nearly died from sepsis has completed the climb of an iconic peak.

Mark Antony Humphries, better known as rap artist ‘Kray-Z Legz’ has defied all the odds to smash his goal.

The 37-year-old from Street, Somerset, who has collaborated with celebs like Snoop Dogg, was born with spina bifida and has used a wheelchair since he was just four years old.

A few years ago, he suffered pressure sores which got infected and led to the amputation.

But Mark wasn’t going to let that stop him achieving his goals, with the producer crawling his way up the 521ft-tall Glastonbury Tor.

“I ended up with sepsis, which nearly killed me,” Mark told Need To Know.

“So I decided to have them [the legs] both removed and that was the best decision I’ve made.

“I am a double leg amputee born with spina bifida, I can’t walk or stand and I use a manual wheelchair.

“I crawled up Glastonbury Tor Hill on my hands and knees.”

Mark achieved the impressive feat on 26 June, raising money for Levelling the Field (LTF) – a charity that helps get deaf and disabled people into the music industry.

Mark said: “I have always had a huge passion for music and have played violin, piano and drums too.

“Music was my escape through my 36+ operations and when I left school I made the decision to just follow my dream and pursue a music career.

“As an artist with a physical disability I personally understand just how hard it is to exist in the music industry due to most venues and events still not being accessible for all, and that’s why I want to support LTF to support them in their truly incredible work.”

Mark managed to raise over £1,000 for the charity.

As Kray-Z Legz, he has taken the stage at multiple Glastonbury iterations, notably performing at the Rum Shack and the Arcadia stage.

His performance at the festival previously drew audiences of up to 4,000 people, which was a huge moment for his career.

The musician has performed alongside big names in the rap game such as Coolio, whilst collaborating with global artists such as Benny Banks and Snoop Dogg.
