A promising 18-year-old footballer has been killed in a horror motorbike crash.
Jeremías Lucas Correa was riding as a passenger on a Honda Titan motorcycle when the crash took place at around 3.45am on Sunday (5 Jul).
The bike, carrying two 18-year-olds, struck a Volkswagen Golf driven by a 21-year-old man on National Route 11 near the town of Margarita Belén in Chaco Province, Argentina.

Jeremías, who played for Club Atlético Central Benítez and had come through the club’s youth ranks, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
His companion, who was operating the vehicle, was rushed to Hospital Perrando in Resistencia with a fractured left femur, a broken left arm and multiple injuries.
The survivor, identified only by his initials M.J.B., remains conscious in hospital, as reported by Need To Know.

The driver of the car sustained serious injuries, including a head trauma with a scalp wound and a fractured left arm.
He has been placed under arrest by the authorities as the investigation continues.
Local police and forensic teams carried out examinations at the site to establish the exact circumstances of the collision.
Tributes poured in for the young player, remembered for his fighting spirit and dedication.
His club posted on social media: “With profound sorrow we bid farewell to our player Jeremías Correa, a product of our youth academy who defended our colours with the strength that defined him.

“We will remember you, Jere, for your grit, persistence in adversity, and above all as a great teammate.
“Rest in peace, you will always be remembered by the Canalla family.”
The local council also expressed its condolences: “With profound sorrow we regret to inform the passing of our young neighbour, son of Alexis Verón and Analía Correa, and grandson of Luis Correa and Cristina Roa, workers of our municipality and collaborators in educational institutions.
“We pray for the peace of his soul and stand with his family and friends in this moment of immense pain. May eternal light shine upon him.”
No further updates on the investigation have been released, and the causes of the crash remain under review.
