However, it seems the respect for the soldiers has almost vanished with the cavalry treated like a tourist attraction.
A number of obnoxious visitors were spotted ignoring the guard on 8 Sep, as reported by Need To Know.
The footage was captured outside of the Household Cavalry Museum in Whitehall, London.
In the clip you can see plenty of people stepping over the white line to pose next to the King’s Guard.
One lady completely ignored the soldier shouting ‘get back’ numerous times before she bolted away.
A cheeky American man walked over and leaned his head right next to the horse before being yelled out.
Fortunately, the spooked tourists gingerly walked away claiming ‘I didn’t know we’re not allowed’.
One fearless American woman revealed she wanted to be yelled at by the guard.
In the clip she can be seen running over with a smile and stepping over the white line, whilst staring directly at the soldier.
Right on cue, the King’s Guard shouted at her to ‘respect the white line’.
To which she ran off giggling, before heading back again for a second time – completely ignoring his orders.
The filmer, who has asked to remain nameless, witnesses obnoxious behaviour from tourists on a daily basis in the area.
