This is the bizarre moment a woman stranded on the banks of the Thames was rescued by the RNLI – as baffled viewers asked if she was even real.
The casualty was spotted sitting at the water’s edge with her feet dangling in the river after apparently being caught out by the changing tide.
Tower RNLI raced to the scene and safely retrieved her on Monday (21 Sep), as reported by Need To Know.

A member of the public crossing London Bridge captured the unusual rescue on camera.
Footage shows the woman sitting almost motionless by the water as the lifeboat approaches.
The Tower RNLI crew reached her at around 1:24pm before bringing her to safety.
She was then handed over to the London Ambulance Service.
But footage of the rescue left some viewers so baffled they questioned whether the stranded woman was actually a dummy being used in a training exercise.
One person said: “Are you sure it’s not an exercise?
“That doesn’t look like a real person.”
The RNLI later confirmed it had been a genuine rescue.
The clip has racked up more than 125,000 views, with some social media users criticising the woman for becoming stranded.
One person said: “Now how did she and why did she think that was a good idea?
“Wasting time, money and good resources for what?
“She’s calmly just sitting there.”
Another viewer added: “How do you even manage to get yourself properly stuck like that and still look that chill about it.”
One person commented: “Waste of resources.”
Another user wrote: “Stupid idiot.”
It is not clear how the woman came to be stranded at the water’s edge.
