A father allegedly shot his two young sons dead in broad daylight after taking them to McDonald’s, before turning the gun on himself.

Police were called to the area of Venice Boulevard and Catalina Street in Los Angeles’ Pico-Union neighbourhood at around 12:49 pm on October 11.

Officers found both boys suffering from gunshot wounds, along with their 35-year-old father, who had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, as reported by Need To Know.
The three were taken to hospital by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics.

Despite emergency treatment, both boys died.
Their father survived and remains in police custody while receiving treatment in hospital, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The LAPD has not publicly named the suspect, but relatives identified him as Adolfo Gramajo, 35.
The boys were identified by their grandparents as Jimmy and Osmani Gramajo.

According to reports citing law enforcement sources, the children had been spending time with their father during a custody visit and had gone to McDonald’s before the shooting.
Police have not said what led to the attack, and the circumstances remain under investigation.
The LAPD said there are no additional suspects being sought and there is no ongoing threat to the community.

Family members have been left devastated by the deaths, with relatives describing the brothers as happy and innocent children.
A family friend told NBC Los Angeles: “They never did anything wrong to anyone. They were always happy, never wanted to hurt anyone. They were innocent.”
Flowers, candles and balloons were later placed near the scene as loved ones and members of the community mourned the boys.
The LAPD’s Juvenile Division is investigating the deaths as a double homicide.
