Panichi claims that the mother of two attacked him with a knife after being overcome with jealousy.
The heating and plumbing technician was arrested on 23 October following his confession, as reported by Need To Know.

The incident reportedly took place in an apartment rented by Panichi in Cuirone, Italy.
Panichi, from Civitella Roveto, fled the scene and allegedly drove over 400 miles to his hometown to find his father and confess to what he had done.
The 53-year-old then reportedly drove to the Carabinieri police station in Avezzano to turn himself in.
Sanmartin Villalba, originally from Columbia who lived in Ancona, was found dead in the bedroom of the apartment.

Reports state that the body was found with around 15 stab wounds, with a 12.9-inch blade next to her.
He was initially arrested on charges of femicide whilst being remanded to San Nicola prison.
During the initial interrogation with prosecutor Maurizio Maria Cerrato, Panichi and his defence attorney claimed self-defence.
He claims that she initiated the attack by wielding a knife during a heated argument caused by her allegedly being extremely jealous.

Forensic investigations are now underway at the crime scene to verify or disprove these claims.
The pair initially met on TikTok before they became romantically involved.
On 16 Jul, Panichi changed his status on social media to ‘officially engaged’ and also posted photos of the days before her death.
