Bugatti CEO who claims he ‘leaves keys in vehicle’ chased down a car thief, only to offer him a lift home.

The Croatian citizen, who was born in Bosnia, stated that the car was stolen on 28 Oct, as reported by Need To Know.
The CEO chased down the thief in his Porsche 911 after it was driven away from the company site in Zagreb.
The Bugatti was recovered by police in Austria, where they discovered it was being taken to the neighbouring Slovenia.
Rimac made use of the Chiron’s tracking system to help cops find the motor.
The suspect, a Croatian man in his 30s, was found and arrested.
Rimac claims he eventually met the suspect at the police station in Austria.
The man claimed he had come to the site looking for a job when he spotted the keys inside the car, deciding to drive off in it.
Rimac took to social media to document the ordeal, where he admitted he’d previously let it slip online that he leaves keys in the cars so it’s easy for workers to move them on site.
Despite the CEO claiming he won’t press charges, he warned the suspect that he may be prosecuted due to the high value of the vehicle.
He wanted to give the suspect a lift home to his family, but the police allegedly did not allow it.
The Chiron was slightly damaged during the incident – with repairs needed.
Mate Rimac said: “The car was stolen yesterday, obviously; I got it back.
“We are in Croatia, which is super super safe, and this will sound very strange – especially for people living in the US or somewhere else.
“I’m so proud of Croatia being so safe that I’m very relaxed, meaning I also always leave my keys inside my cars, including Chiron and Nevera.
“I did that for years, and nothing ever happened, of course, until something did happen now, so I will not do that anymore and don’t try your luck.”
