The Airbus A320, which departed from Kano, Nigeria, safely landed at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Tuesday (14 Jul).
But bungling workers from the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company reportedly hit the stationary plane with the airport belt loader.
One staff member reportedly slumped to the ground after the vehicle rammed the plane and is now receiving medical treatment.
The damaged plane had been due to operate several more services across the airline’s network in the coming days, as reported by Need To Know.
Air Peace confirmed the collision caused significant damage to the aircraft and disrupted their schedule.
An airline spokesperson said: “We sincerely apologise to our esteemed passengers whose travel plans may be affected by this unforeseen ground handling incident.”
They added that operational and customer service teams are providing alternative options and assistance where possible.
The carrier stressed that the safety of passengers, crew and equipment remains their highest priority.

The airline is working closely with the ground handling company and aviation authorities to investigate the cause and prevent it happening again.
They urged affected travellers to be patient while it sorts out the mess.
Operations are expected to return to normal once a replacement aircraft is found.
