Runners, cyclists and climbers are being urged to “keep an eye out” for a missing woman’s car almost a month after she vanished.

Police are desperately trying to locate Tracey Smith’s Fiat Panda in the hope it could help piece together her final movements.

The 57-year-old disappeared on 24 July, and there have been no confirmed sightings of her since, as reported by Need To Know.

Enquiries have uncovered images of Tracey driving away from her home in Stokesley, North Yorkshire, on the day she disappeared.

Her car’s registration is WR10 ETK.

North Yorkshire Police believe the vehicle may have been left somewhere in the countryside and launched a fresh appeal on 18 August.

Officers believe it could be in the Cleveland and North Yorkshire border area or around the North York Moors and Cleveland Hills.

They are now calling on the “outdoor community” to help track it down.

Walkers, runners, hikers, cyclists, climbers and anyone else visiting the area have been asked to look out for the Fiat, including at beauty spots and in more remote locations.

Tracey is described as 5ft 5ins tall, of slim build, with shoulder-length brown hair and a mole above her lip.

Investigators have not ruled out the possibility that she may have travelled to London, but finding her car remains a key focus of the search.

Inspector Ciaran Conlon, of Hambleton & Richmond Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to help find Tracey, whose disappearance continues to be of great concern to us and her friends and family.

“Finding her black Fiat Panda is one of the key priorities in our search, and I appeal to everyone who enjoys the local area to keep an eye out for it – from local beauty spots to the more remote areas of the national park.

“I also make a direct appeal to Tracey – if you see or hear this appeal, please get in touch with the police, your family or friends, and let us know that you are safe.

“Or, if you prefer, you can contact the charity Missing People on their free and confidential helpline 116 000, who can pass on a message to help put people’s minds at rest.”
