A mum-of-two has been found dead in the boot of a car after her estranged husband allegedly answered the door to police with blood on his shirt.
Jake O’Brien Bigoni, 37, was arrested on Wednesday (12 August) after officers were called to carry out a welfare check on Eliana Alexandra Bigoni.
The 34-year-old Colombian woman was in the process of divorcing Bigoni and sparked concern when she failed to turn up for an 8:30 am breakfast with a friend.

She was also due to pick up the couple’s two children, aged two and five, that morning but could not be contacted.
Fearing for Eliana’s safety, her friend called police and requested a welfare check.
Police were also aware of concerns surrounding Bigoni’s previous violent behaviour.
Eliana had shared her live GPS location with her mother and a friend, which showed her last known location as the flat where Bigoni lived in Plano, Texas.

Officers arrived at the property at around 10:30 am and were met at the door by Bigoni.
He allegedly had a large stain on his top, which he claimed had come from cleaning the home.
Bigoni also allegedly told officers that Eliana had been at the flat earlier to collect one of their children, who was unwell, but had since left.
Police later received a call from Bigoni’s mother, who said her son had contacted her around 30 minutes before the welfare check.
According to the arrest warrant, he told her: “I have something to tell you. She’s dead. We got in a fight, and she’s dead.”
Officers detained Bigoni and determined the stain on his shirt was blood, as reported by Need To Know.

They then searched a white Hyundai Genesis parked in the apartment’s garage.
Eliana’s body was allegedly discovered inside the boot with significant injuries to her face and head.
Investigators also found a large amount of blood and blood spatter inside the flat.
The couple’s two young children were reportedly inside the home at the time of the alleged killing but were found unharmed and removed by police.
Plano Police Officer Jerry Minton told local media: “You are talking about two kids who were present when this incident or crime occurred.

“I can’t speculate as to what they may or may not have seen, but they were present.”
Bigoni was initially arrested on a felony charge of abuse of a corpse.
The following day, Plano Police obtained a warrant charging him with first-degree murder, and he was booked into Collin County Jail.
He remains in custody without bond while the Plano Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit continues its investigation.
The Collin County Medical Examiner has not yet released Eliana’s official cause of death.
