A social media star and daughter of a famous singer has tragically died from cancer aged 23.
Florencia Victoria Sugo Da Rosa died in the early hours of Wednesday (19 August).
Florencia was diagnosed in early 2025 with carcinoma of unknown primary site.
The condition occurs when cancerous cells, including metastatic cells, are found but doctors are unable to determine where the primary tumour originated.
She died in Rivera, Uruguay.
Following her diagnosis, she underwent treatment in Uruguay and Brazil.
During her treatment, she was found to have the KRAS G12D genetic mutation, for which there was no specific conventional treatment available.

She subsequently travelled to the US to take part in a clinical trial involving a drug targeting the mutation.
Florencia was the eldest daughter of renowned Uruguayan singer Lucas Sugo, whose fans closely followed her battle with the disease.
In January 2026, Lucas said Florencia was returning to Uruguay from the US and was doing well, although she would later have to return to continue her treatment.
However, as the months passed, her health again became a cause for concern.
In July, people close to Lucas described her condition as “delicate” and “very difficult”.
By then, Florencia was back in Boston receiving medication targeting the mutation.
Sentimientos Producciones, the company representing Lucas, eventually broke the tragic news of her death.
She was laid to rest in Rivera yesterday (19 August), as reported by Need To Know.

Florencia was reportedly studying medicine when she was diagnosed.
In April 2026, she told her tens of thousands of social media followers: “One year since I received the diagnosis that changed my life from one day to the next.
“A year in which the days became filled with uncertainty, where life pushed me to the limit. Days that seemed endless, questions without answers, fears that arose and still continue to appear, faith that came into my heart and grows stronger day by day.
“I learned to be strong, to get up every day with the determination to keep going.
“Today, I am confronted with the reality of how fragile life can be, how from one moment to the next you can find yourself forced to leave everything behind and focus on the only thing that, ultimately, matters: HEALTH.
“There are good days and not-so-good days when I allow myself to feel and express my emotions. What I have learned during this time is the immense power our minds have. Trying to silence the mental noise and fill ourselves with positive thoughts is essential for healing.”
She added: “Make the most of every minute of life, every moment shared with your loved ones, every hug, every kiss – don’t hold anything back. Love, feel, enjoy, you only get one life.”
