A driver allegedly ploughed his car into a bus at speed before attempting to flee the scene in the mangled wreckage, despite half the engine being destroyed.
The dramatic incident unfolded when the 2006 Peugeot CC reportedly collided with the bus as the driver sped to beat a changing traffic light.
Hiwa Abdullah Ahmed, 42, from Bradford, captured the aftermath on camera after witnessing the crash first-hand.

He said the driver’s car was left in a shocking state – airbags deployed, debris scattered across the road, and the engine so badly damaged it was billowing white smoke and emitting loud noises.
The incident took place in Leeds city centre.
Despite the destruction, the driver allegedly refused to stop.
Instead, he reportedly fled the scene at a crawl because the vehicle was no longer capable of normal speed.
According to Hiwa, furious onlookers tried to intervene.
One man attempted to physically stop the car, while another threw coffee at the vehicle in a desperate bid to halt it.
“I was absolutely shocked by what I saw, as I have never witnessed anything like this before,” Hiwa told Need To Know.

“As he drove away, I decided to record the scene for public safety — in case the driver caused further damage or injured someone.”
The incident took place on 29 August.
The footage, since shared to TikTok by Hiwa, has racked up more than 171,000 views.
Jam Press has approached West Yorkshire Police for a comment.
