The TV host, actress and model – who once proposed to NFL legend Tom Brady – is alleged to have used a network of shell companies to divert nearly $160m from public funds.
The mother of six was arrested on 30 Oct, as reported by Need To Know.

Her arrest comes after five years of fleeing the warrants issued in her home country of Mexico.
In Sep 2021, when the accusations were made, both Gómez Mont and her lawyer husband Víctor Manuel Álvarez Puga fled the country with their family.
For five years, the pair hid internationally to evade Mexican law enforcement.
In Sep this year, Interpol controversially lifted their international “red notices” against the couple.

This decision was heavily criticised by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum – whilst their local arrest warrants remained active.
US Authorities detained Gómez Mont on 30 Oct in Miami, Florida.
She is currently in custody in the States pending immigration proceedings and formal extradition requests.
Her husband Victor, known as ‘King of the Invoice Mills’, was previously detained in 2025 in Miami, Florida, by ICE.

In 2021, Gómez Mont took to social media to protest her innocence to her 2.5m followers.
A statement made on 14 Oct that year on Instagram reads: “I have faith that the truth will continue to come out and our innocence will be demonstrated.
“I repeat and stand by it: I am innocent, and this is an injustice.
“They want to shut me up, but I will continue to raise my voice with all my might.”
