The Tap and Run country boozer was gutted in the blaze. But after a £1 million refurbishment, it is set to reopen next Monday (26 Jun). Broad, who took six wickets in the first Ashes Test which ended yesterday (20 Jun), owns the pub with former England bowler pal, Harry Gurney. The re-launch will give the 35-year-old fast bowler something to smile about after England lost to Australia by two wickets at Edgbaston. Business partner Harry, 36, said: “The prospect of sitting with a glass of wine in the brand new Tap and Run frankly gives me a lump in my throat. “We can't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to rise from the ashes. “We'll be reopening our doors, and we couldn't be more excited to have you back.” The pub is already taking books ahead of the re-opening, one year, two weeks and a day after the inferno. The blaze, which started in a tumble dryer, ripped through the pub in Upper Broughton, Nottinghamshire, on 11 June last year. The roof and upper floor were destroyed. Workmen spent yesterday (20 Jun) installing new seating and soft furnishings inside the pub. The beer pumps and lighting went in last Saturday (17 Jun) as staff also built new garden tables. The new roof was installed in April. Broad, engaged to ex-Saturdays singer Mollie King, was the pick of the bowlers in Birmingham. England Ashes star Stuart Broad’s pub is set to reopen just over a year after it was destroyed by fire.

The Tap and Run country boozer was gutted in the blaze.

But after a £1million refurbishment it is set to reopen next Monday (26 Jun).

Broad – who took six wickets in the first Ashes Test which ended yesterday (20 Jun) – owns the pub with former England bowler pal Harry Gurney.
