A man had his foot ripped off by a giant caiman while fishing at night.
The victim accidentally disturbed the resting reptile.
It subsequently mauled his right foot.
Black caimans can grow up to 14 feet long.
It was caught by locals after the attack before they reportedly killed it with machete blows.

It took place in the rural area of Puerto Cabinas, north of La Paz, Bolivia, on Sunday (18 Feb).
After being rescued, the unnamed victim was taken to the Hospital General De Riberalta for treatment.
Doctors controlled the patient’s heavy bleeding before amputating part of his right leg.
The victim is still undergoing hospital treatment as concerned family members appeal to the public for help covering the costs.
