Arsenal goalie, David Raya is keeping his XL Bully dog despite the dangerous breed being outlawed.

The Premier League ace has had Goku since he was a puppy.

He and his model girlfriend, Tatiana Trouboul adore the one-year-old dog.

And they have vowed to keep him even though new laws have come into place to ban XL Bullies.

Spaniard Raya, on loan from Brentford, has shared snaps of him cuddled up with him on the sofa and at their home.

WAG Tatiana, 27, has also been seen snuggling up with Goku and taking him for walks near their North London home.

The dog lives in a secure cage in their home.

The 28-year-old Gunners stopper has hired Elite Protection Dogs to train Goku.

An Elite Protection Dogs spokesperson said: “David Raya has one XL Bully.

“He is called Goku, he is one year old, he’s had him since a puppy.

“Everyone with XL Bullies is worried

“But David is a responsible owner, he wants to be responsible with him.

“We are training him on a long-term contract.”

On 31 December last year, it became illegal to have an X Bully in public without a lead and muzzle.

It was also an offence to sell, breed, give away or abandon one.

On 1 February it became illegal to own an XL Bully in the UK unless the dog is exempted.

They need to be microchipped, neutered, muzzled in public and kept in a secure place.

Owners must have third-party liability insurance and show their exemption certificate to police if asked.

The ban follows a rise in attacks by XL Bullies including fatal ones.

Raya – who has dislodged Aaron Ramsdale in goal at The Emirates – has an exemption certificate for Goku.

Elite Protection Dogs has 35 years of experience training canines for the rich and famous.

They charge up to £20,000 for their services.

In December 2022, Aston Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez got a Belgian Malinois from Elite Protection Dogs.

He got the dog to protect the World Cup winners medal he won that month with Argentina.

Other footballer clients include former Chelsea and England defender Ashley Cole and ex-Tottenham star Hugo Lloris.

Heavyweight boxing champ Tyson Fury has also used them.
