A dog bite prevention spray costing £20 has been mocked for being like ‘Lynx Africa’ amid XL Bully attacks.

Canine Shield is nontoxic and solely made of corn powder.

It is designed to deter a dog from attacking if they charge towards humans.

The company claims it is eco-friendly.

Canine Shield works by pressing the activation button.

This emits a powder mist along with a hissing sound that can startle and scare the dog away – giving you a chance to get away.

But it can only be sprayed for seven seconds as the can will be depleted afterwards.

A bottle costs £27.99.

It is currently on sale for £19.99 on their website.

It comes after XL Bullies were banned in the UK following a string of fatal incidents.

The listing reads: “Canine Shield represents a powdered spray designed to discourage canine aggression or an attack due to the visuals from the yellow powder being sprayed and the hissing sound emitted from the can.

“It is designed to spray a yellow powder plume along with administering a hissing sound that can startle and scare a dog off giving the individual time to get away to safety.

“It uses compressed air to imitate natural warning sounds found in the wild and the yellow plume is to create a distraction.

”This product is not harmful and is not to be sprayed directly in the animal’s face.”

It adds: “We can not guarantee this product will stop an attacking dog.”

However, many people have slammed the product.

One joked: “So it doesn’t blind or stop them, might as well use Lynx Africa.”

Another person, called Jay fumed: “So I should carry this as part of my everyday essentials?”
