A woman has revealed how she intends to carry on clubbing despite disapproving comments because of her age.

Nina Bosoanca, 51, still loves a boogie into the early hours, and won’t be stopping for anyone.

A serial clubber, she took a break when she had young children, but resumed her dance-floor adventures and urges that age is just a number.

The mum-of-two says she won’t let people stop her from doing what she enjoys and is on a mission to show she hasn’t passed her prime.

In a video posted to TikTok (@goldie_tat2), that earned over 47,000 views and 3,000 likes, the 51-year-old says she won’t let society dictate how she should act and to stop age shaming.

“It makes me angry that society, advertising and media in particular, label you as old saying you should stay home at night and go to bed at nine or book a cruise and do gardening,” Nina, who owns a cosmetic tattooing and beauty shop in Cologne, Germany, told Need To Know.

“We need to change this way of thinking. Life isn’t over when you’re in your 50s.

“People think it’s still ok being in clubs when you’re in your thirties, but once you hit 40, that’s too old. On the contrary, you can be more relaxed, enjoy and appreciate it much more.”

But, despite Nina’s outlook on life after 50, others aren’t so open-minded and don’t mind age-shaming her to her face.

She said: “A guy came up to me and told me straight: ‘Aren’t you too old to be here?’ That was really upsetting.

“I was in a good mood, dancing, having fun and enjoying the night, but this guy destroyed that feeling.

“He made me sad and angry at the same time.

”People of all ages have the right to go to a club, enjoy the music and dance.

”I had the urge to tell him I was clubbing before he was even born. But I just told him to go away.”

Not everyone discriminates about age though.

Nina said: ”Most people in clubs are respectful and find it interesting and cool that I’m still out on the scene.

”I go to house-music clubs and parties mostly or to festivals to hear DJs that I love.

“Dancing and feeling the vibe is so special.”

Online, Nina has been flooded with support from fellow fiftysomethings who also enjoy a night out clubbing.

Claudine said: “Let people talk!! Enjoy your life, we have just one!”

“Why not… I do it too and am older. The youngsters don’t owe anything,” posted another.

“Yes girl… do what you love,” commented one.

Another user quipped: “Music transcends every age. Those who let it go have no idea what they’re missing. Also 50 & I’ll never let that part of me go keeps us well in so many ways.”

Lisa added: “Haha 100% agree!! I’m 48 nearly 49 and when clubbing people are always shocked when they hear my age! Why should we stop having fun? Jeezzzz!”

Weighing in on the positivity, Nina said: “I was overwhelmed by the amazing feedback and messages I got on my TikTok post.

“So many people, mostly women in their 50s and even 60s, wrote that they are still clubbing and they enjoy doing it.

“You feel that night vibe of being free and united with the others, it’s like a community.

“I really don’t understand why others think that a person hitting a certain age should stop something that makes them happy.

“Everybody is just feeling the music and you become one vibing and dancing on the floor together. Age should not matter at all”

She added: “Please let’s stop age shaming.”
