A reality star who was forced to give up farting in jars after being rushed to hospital has now turned her hand to NFTs – and she’s set to become a millionaire.

Steph Matto, 31, from Connecticut, US, was rushed to hospital last month with symptoms of a “heart attack”, caused by her forcing out excess gas.

She was told by doctors to give up her fibre-high diet of beans and eggs, which had been fuelling her $200,000 business, forcing the 90 Day Fiancé star into retirement.

The self-proclaimed ‘fartrepreneur’ Steph has now turned her hand to selling them in a digital art form, known as NFTs for $200 (£148) each – and she’s already sold 1,000 in just a few days.

An NFT – which stands for non-fungible token – can be sold and redeemed through a system known as the blockchain.

Photos, drawings, audio recordings and memes can become an NFT and similar to collectible physical items, they can gain value over time.

With 5,000 NFTS for sale on her website, Steph is on track to make $1 million if they all sell out.

“Farting in jars was taking a toll on my body and wasn’t the healthiest thing,” Steph told Jam Press.

“I think during the pandemic a lot of us have been feeling like a fart trapped in a jar and I want to continue this journey.

“I managed to make $200,000 out of my ass.

“It’s a great distraction from a lot that is going on in the world right now, and is a symbol of hope and lightness during dark times.

“Now people have to simply imagine the smell!”

With Steph having to give up her recent business venture – which saw her push out 50 jars a week – she decided to give cryptocurrency a go instead.

While recovering on gas suppressant medication, Steph contacted a digital artist with the idea of creating the world’s first fart jar NFTs.

Steph launched her website last week, selling 5,000 digital fart jars in JPEG form tied to a blockchain receipt, for 0.05 ETH, or $200 (£148) each.

Steph said: “It was towards the end of my time doing the mass orders of fart jars that I began to see the toll it was taking on my body and health.

“I thought maybe digitizing the farts and putting them out into the metaverse was the best way to keep the farts going.

“I think my transition from selling sexy content and farts in jars to metaphysical farts is causing some people to really rethink the way that NFT’s can be used and conceptualized.

“I really want to make an example for women in the NFT community that they have a space too.

“The farts in each jar don’t just symbolize my farts, but they stand for being able to make money any way you can!”

The fart jar NFTs have four use cases: each owner gets access to Steph on a private Discord; the collectors with the most fart jars will get a private Zoom meeting with her; access to a private mentor programme and artwork to use as a profile picture to display inclusion in the community.

But Steph hasn’t completely abandoned her old ways, as fans are still offered the chance to purchase a real fart jar.

Buyers can redeem 100 tokens for a fart jar, 30 NFTs for worn lingerie, and 10 for jars that she has queefed in.

Steph said: “Some of the NFT’s do come with rare redeemable assets such as queef jars, lingerie, and physical fart jars.

“However, they will only be in small batches, so thankfully it does not put a huge strain on me.”

Steph says her transition into the metaverse has allowed her to continue standing for female empowerment without harming her body.

She said: “I’m pretty happy I don’t have to sit around drinking protein shakes and eating beans all day!

“Farting in jars was taking its toll on my body and even mentally was not the healthiest thing for me due to some of the backlash.

“I think the NFT community has a great sense of humour and I love being a part of the first-ever launch of something like this.

“I’m bringing farts to the people, from asses to the masses.

“For as long as I can remember, it has been assumed that girls don’t poop and girls most certainly don’t fart.

“Making a statement and an impact is not about pushing a fart – it’s about pushing yourself to do anything you set your mind to.

“Fart jars are a symbol of feminine power, hope, joy, and lightheartedness in even the darkest times.”

Having only launched her site just days ago, Steph has already sold nearly 1,000 NFTs.

The star has also decided to donate a portion of the earnings to the Be The Match foundation, after her own journey with aplastic anemia.

She added: “The project is meant to be fun, interactive, meme-able, and we have a lot of people liking it so far.

“Someone this morning just bought their fart jar NFT for 0.05 ETH, which was about $200, and sold it for 0.25 ETH, which is about $1,000.

“It’s pretty crazy that my farts have the capacity of not only pleasing someone’s senses, but also making THEM money too.

“It’s great to be sharing the fartrepreneurial venture with others.”
