The search for the 19-year-old from Lancashire, missing in Tenerife, has now stretched into its tenth day.
The young man, last seen on Monday, June 17th, was vacationing with friends who last heard from him around 8:30 am on that day.
He informed them he intended to walk back to his accommodation after missing a bus, an arduous journey estimated to take about 11 hours on foot.

Currently, search efforts are concentrated in Masca, a remote and mountainous area located on the western tip of Tenerife. This small village, which sits at an altitude of 650 meters and is home to about 90 residents, is where he was last known to be.
Recently, Spanish police released footage showing a helicopter surveying the rugged terrain, while ground search teams, accompanied by sniffer dogs, combed through the area.
The 35-second video, posted on the Guardia Civil’s social media account, depicts officers using binoculars in a dense forest, hoping to spot any signs of the missing teen.
The police stated on social media, “We continue with the search for the young British man missing in Tenerife.”
They also mentioned that different units of the Guardia Civil, alongside specialized search dogs from Madrid, are involved in the extensive search operation.
However, there are complications. According to The Times, the search dogs have not been provided with an item of Mr. Slater’s clothing, which could help them pick up his scent.
Instead, cadaver dogs, which can detect the scent of human remains without a specific scent prompt, are being used.
Mayor Emilio Jose Navarro informed Reuters that local residents have been interviewed by the police, including some who reported seeing Mr. Slater watching Euro matches along the coast.
