A 31-year-old bride-to-be was crushed to death when a building part came loose and fell on top of her in front of her horrified mum.
Horror CCTV shows Amanda Ferreira de Araújo sitting on a plastic chair on the pavement outside her home.
She was apparently absorbed in her phone when the marquee of the building behind her suddenly detached.
The heavy structure fell straight onto Amanda’s head, flattening her and breaking the chair to pieces.
A second later, her mother could be seen emerging from the front door and sinking into despair at the grim sight.
Other people came running over to help, but there was nothing they could do, as reported by Need To Know.
The horror unfolded at around 5:40pm on Monday (7 Apr) in Belo Jardim, west of Recife, Brazil.
Responding firefighters say Amanda sustained an open leg fracture and a deep head wound.
She was taken to A&E but did not survive her injuries.
Amanda was engaged and planning her wedding with her fiancé.
Local media say the marquee had only recently been installed.
The police are investigating the case.
