A hapless driver wrote off a £380,000 Ferrari after colliding with an electric car and lorry.

The 53-year-old behind the wheel of the 211mph supercar crashed into the Polestar.

The 33-year-old driving the EV motor attempted to overtake a 40-ton semi-trailer truck, it is said.

But they failed to see the Ferrari 12Cilindri approaching from behind.

The two vehicles became wedged, spun around, and crashed into the lorry.

The semi-trailer then overturned on the A3 motorway near Wachenroth in Bavaria, Germany, yesterday (23 Sept) morning.

The Polestar and the Ferrari were both written off in the crash, according to the police.

The owner of the supercar only bought it a few months ago.

Luckily, all three drivers involved – as well as a 44-year-old passenger in the Polestar – escaped from the crash with just minor injuries.

Following the accident, the police closed the highway to Nuremberg.

Police spokesperson Christian Mark said 65 witnesses are about to receive a fine through the post for ‘gawking’, as reported by Need To Know.

He stated: “Drivers pulled out their mobile phones and tablets while passing by or coming in the opposite direction, filming and photographing the accident scene.

“But there were enough police officers on site, and they took down the license plates of the gawkers.

“The 65 car and truck drivers will soon receive a letter in the mail.

“They face fines of up to €200 and a point on their license.”
