A businesswoman was allegedly shot dead in a hotel by her prison warden partner just one week after they officially became a couple.
Flávia Barros was found with gunshot wounds inside a hotel room in the early hours of Sunday (22 Mar).
Her partner, Tiago Sóstenes Miranda de Matos, is believed to have attempted to take his own life after the shooting.

Police were called following reports of gunshots and found the couple on the bed. A .40-calibre pistol was seized at the scene.
Tiago, 42, survived and was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in serious condition.
The pair had travelled to Aracaju, Brazil, to attend a concert on Saturday night (21 Mar), as reported by Need To Know.
Friends said they had been seeing each other since November last year, but Tiago only officially asked Flávia to be his girlfriend on her birthday, 15 March.

Flávia, 38, lived in Paulo Afonso and owned FB Soluções Financeiras, a company offering debt settlement and other financial services.
She was also in the fourth term of a law degree at UniRios University Centre.
On social media, where she had more than 18,000 followers, Flávia often shared photos of her travels, fitness activities, and moments with family and friends.
Her funeral will be held today (23 Mar).
Tiago is director of the Paulo Afonso Penal Complex and also holds a law degree.
There are no active disciplinary proceedings against him, according to the Bahia State Prison Service.
Police are investigating, but the motive remains unclear.
