A woman has revealed how her husband’s friends often called her ‘grandma’ as she’s 10 years older than him.
But Shanice Peterson is having the last laugh, as Chance is “obsessed” with her.
The 34-year-old had dabbled in younger men before, though all of them were past their 20s.

When he slid into her DMs, though, sparks started to immediately fly – and now, the rest is history.
But people have flocked to the comments on a video, which has racked up 755,000 views and over 35,000 likes, calling out Shanice and Chance’s age gap.
“At first, his friends said he was dating a granny because I’m so much older,” the stay-at-home mum told Need To Know.
“And even thought I was materialistic or a gold digger.
“Which makes no sense, as Chance had no job, car or place of his own when we got together.
“So I don’t know why that was said.
“Now, though, we all get along like family.
“I take it as a joke and laugh it off.”
Shanice, from Arizona, US, spotted his message on Instagram in September 2022.
When looking at his profile, though, she quickly decided that he wasn’t her type due to looking “too young”.
She said: “He didn’t have any mature photos.
“He would always comment on my story posts, but I left him in the message requests because at the time, I wasn’t interested.
“I only replied to him because I was venting on my story and he commented on me fixing my lash as it wasn’t on correctly.
“After that, we kept the conversation going.
“At first, I didn’t feel a connection, but once I got to know him – and we hung out a lot – that all changed.”
Shanice, a mum-of-two, invited him over to her apartment where they cooked dinner and shared a bottle of wine.
She found herself calling him before falling asleep and her soft spot for Chance only grew.
The age gap, however, was an issue at first.
She said: “He actually lied about his age when I first met him, but after he told me the truth, we had already been together for a year.
“No one in my age range did the same things he did.
“He was consistent, persistent and never gave up.”
In the clip, Shanice and Chance are eating a meal together.
The caption reads: ‘POV: You turn 35, but your 25 yr old husband is still obsessed.’
Users have flocked to the comments to share their comments, with some people more harsh than others.
Someone commented: “When you was 25 he was 15…” to which Shanice replied: “I didn’t know him then.”
“Your a good mom…just adopt him,” another person added.
Walenda said: “So, where did you purchase him,” and Shanice said: “I actually raised him.”
“10 years is crazy I could do 4 years max,” someone else commented.
Shanice doesn’t care what people think, though, and tied the knot with Chance in April 2025 after welcoming their daughter, now aged one.
Her oldest daughter, aged 12, from a previous relationship, also views him as a “second dad”.
She added: “She loves him.
“It’s incomparable from previous relationships because we’re actually married – something I never thought I’d do – and we’ve learned a lot from each other.
“When people call me extreme names, it doesn’t bother me at all, as no one ever says these things to my face.
“If I could give any advice it would be to stay patient with your partner and communicate.
“We’ve managed to remain positive, taking the negatives and spinning them around completely.”
