Story from Jam Press (Birthday Lottery Win) Pictured: Kristin Murawski and her husband, Scott. Woman scoops $288,000 lottery on hubby's birthday during 'quick stop' at shop A lucky woman has two reasons to cheer on her husband’s birthday – after scooping the lottery while out for a “quick stop”. Kristin Murawski, 46, said her husband’s [Scott] “jaw dropped” when she told him that she had hit the winning numbers. Originally from Washtenaw County in Michigan State, US, she won $288,903 (£226,026) on the Fantasy 5 draw on 21 July. She ended up matching all five numbers: 21-23-25-34-38. Kristin bought her winning ticket at the Red Party Store in Willis Village. She said: “I like to play Fantasy 5 when the jackpot gets over $150,000. “We made a quick stop at Red's and I saw the jackpot was way past $150,000 so I grabbed a ticket. “It was my husband, Scott's, birthday so we stopped at our neighbour's house on the way home to celebrate. “While we were there, my brother-in-law texted my husband the winning numbers. “As I was looking at them, I kept yelling ‘I think we hit! I think we hit!’ “My husband looked at the ticket and his jaw dropped.” Kristin plans to use the money to enjoy retirement. The lucky lady told Michigan Lottery: “Winning this jackpot is life-changing and makes our lives easier. “It means an earlier retirement for my husband and less worry about how we'll make ends meet once we’re both retired.” Last month, another lucky winner scooped the lottery just hours after popping the question to his partner. Nick Miller, 31, from Bernard City, told lottery officials that his partner Lauren Timmerman accepted his marriage proposal on the evening of 22 June. The following morning, Nick and his brother stopped for breakfast at Casey's convenience store in Cascade City, Iowa State. Already overjoyed that his now-fiancée said ‘yes’ hours earlier, the groom-to-be then scooped a jackpot of $390,191 (£30

The cash prize had been growing for over two months before Nick’s numbers came up.

He said: “I’m ready for the next parts of life, I guess.

“There is the wedding and a house to start doing some work on.”
