A TikToker, who frequently goes viral with her incredible DIY tips, has revealed a genius hack for painting rooms in an easier way – and all you need is a sock.

Marley Soden, an influencer with over 500,000 followers (@marley .makes.things), has been using her so-called ‘sock method’ for years after first discovering it online herself.
She uses the technique to projects big and small, from finishing details on furniture, railings and more.
The unique trick has gone viral on TikTok with over 10.8 million views, leaving users mesmerised.
“You begin by putting a disposable glove on your hand and then a clean sock,” Marley, who is also an artist, from Greensboro, North Carolina, US, told NeedToKnow.co.uk.

“Then you just dip the sock hand into your paint bucket and rub the paint on your surface.
“This method applies the paint in very thin, buildable layers which gives a very smooth final product without brush strokes.
“This method also gives you more control, making it great for painting surfaces with detailing that a sponge roller might not be able to get.
“I’ve had great results using this method on small tables, a dresser, and most recently the railing on my staircase.
“It’s a great technique.”
In the video posted to social media, Marley pops on her glove before covering her hand with a new, white sock.

She then gets to work, dipping her hand into the fresh paint and rubbing it onto wooden furniture.
