Story from Jam Press (Police Barbie Influencer) Pictured: Viviana Alvarado was a police officer in her native Honduras. Police Barbie influencer reveals she had to flee home due to death threats A former cop, dubbed ‘Police Barbie’, has revealed that she had to flee her home country due to alleged death threats. Viviana Alvarado, 25, was a police officer in her native Honduras. But she fled to the US in August 2022. Viviana, who first went viral on social media as a ‘hot cop’ in 2017, was accompanied by her husband, Darwin Chavarría and daughter, Marycielo. On her Instagram page, the former officer – who was dubbed ‘Police Barbie’ by local media – said she fled Honduras due to death threats and relentless persecution. She also said that the alleged harassment was not only directed at her. But also one of her sisters and her uncle, Aníbal Alvarado, who is the mayor of Santa Rosa de Copán, in Honduras. Viviana claimed: “He is my uncle, and of course, it is political persecution because they no longer want him to be re-elected as mayor. “They went to his house to tell him that they would kill him if he is re-elected as mayor again.” Viviana said the threats began when she publicly complained about the levels of abuse and harassment within the Honduran National Police. Her alleged mistreatment began when she was serving in the country’s capital Tegucigalpa. She was first forced to move to Siguatepeque, nearly 80 miles away. However, she said her husband was attacked in their new home city and the family decided to leave Honduras altogether in 2022. The alleged incidents led to Alvarado filing complaints against her former colleagues. It is unclear if the Honduran authorities are investigating Alvarado’s allegations. ENDS
