A filmmaker captured this stunning underwater footage of models swimming with a whale shark.
Self-styled “underwater storyteller” Perrin James recorded the mesmerising images after spotting the gigantic fish during a boat trip.
Perrin, 33, said: “My friend Jim had invited me and my friend Carmella Rose out for a dive on his boat.
“And within 30 minutes we had a baby whale shark swimming under the boat.
“It was just one of those days everything aligned.”
His video shows how fashion model Carmella is dwarfed by the whale shark, which is the largest living fish, as she swims alongside it.
Perrin revealed: “You’re always thankful when you do come across something like this.”
Perrin’s video has been watched tens of thousands of times on Instagram.
It was flooded with comments like “Stunning”, “Incredible”, and “Sublime”.
But Perrin, who is self-demanding, said: “Truthfully, I wasn’t too happy with the result.
“I was testing out a Rear Lens ND Filter and above water it’s fine, but underwater it causes an uneven vignetting that is just a bit strange.”
Perrin – who lives in Honolulu, Hawaii, US – took the footage off the Kona Coast on Hawaii’s Big Island.
He was not fazed by the whale shark, which is harmless to humans and feeds on zooplankton, phytoplankton, and fish.
Perrin said: “I always laugh when I see them because their eyes are so small and I think they look funny.”
Jess commented on his video, which was posted on 15 August last year: “This would be a dream.”
