A brute who ploughed his car into a 30-year-old woman before pelting her body with stones has been jailed for 40 years.
Interior designer Pelin Kaya was walking home from celebrating her birthday on 18 January last year when she was mowed down.
Her killer Jeremie Camilleri had never met her before.

But the 34-year-old later told the police he “wanted to be famous” and was “a psychopath and proud.”
After mowing down Turkish national Pelin on the pavement in Gżira, Malta, he started throwing stones at her corpse and passers-by.

Police had to taser him before they could seize him at the scene.
He was sentenced on Tuesday (5 Mar) after admitting murdering her while drunk and high on cocaine.
Justice Consuelo Scerri Herrera said she believed Camilleri, who is Maltese-French, should be jailed for longer.
But his guilty plea before the written accusation was presented meant the judge couldn’t give him life behind bars.
Camilleri’s 14 charges included grievously injuring a second woman, slightly injuring a man, and violently resisting arrest.

Tattooed Camilleri had previous convictions but had not been jailed before.
Now, if his behaviour is good, he could be out in 30 years, local media report.
Pelin’s sister, Derya Kaya, said outside the court in Valletta: “Now my prayer, and that of my family, is that he will die in prison.”
