A dad has been left heartbroken after finding his missing dog’s dead in a canal after claiming a pet sitter stole him.
Redford Robinson has been searching for his Cane Corso called Diego for two months.
The 34-year-old went abroad for six months to visit family in Jamaica and paid £2,820 for him to be looked after.

But since returning from holiday on 24 January, he claims the dog sitter began ‘ghosting’ his calls and texts.
Construction worker Redford, of Rochdale, Greater Manchester spoke of his heartache for missing Diego last month.
However, on Saturday (23 Mar), the father-of-two found Diego’s body in a canal in the New Islington area of Manchester.
He said: “I have found my dog dead in the canal in Manchester.
”Gutted does not cut it.”
Redford had reported the disappearance of Diego to Greater Manchester Police.
A force spokesperson said today (26 Mar): “An investigation into theft in Manchester is still ongoing at this stage with no arrests made.”
Redford previously told Need To Know he just wanted to know his dog was okay.
”I was looking for someone to take care of Diego whilst I was away,” he said.
”Everything was alright at first, we were communicating all the time.”
But he claimed: “Now they won’t answer the phone to me.
“It’s weird how someone can disappear.
”I just want them to bring my dog back.
”He’s not your average dog, he’s a big dog and nearly three feet tall.”
Greater Manchester Police has been approached for further comment.
