A 22-year-old hubby-to-be, involved in a violent car crash, has woken from his coma and squeezed his mum’s hand.
Mario Di Carlo flipped his Ford Fiesta and crashed it into a roadside palm tree in the early hours of 16 March.
Seconds earlier, he’d lost control of the car, for reasons still unclear.
He was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and lay in a coma in the ICU with his mum never leaving his side.

Thirteen days later, on Good Friday (29 Mar) evening, Mario woke up.
His mum believes his “resurrection” was an Easter miracle.
She told local media: “Mario immediately recognised me.
“His awakening brought us joy. To us, he’s a miracle.”
When Mario opened his eyes in Palermo, Italy, he immediately recognised his mum and squeezed her hand as a sign of affection.

The medics who’ve been monitoring him have ruled out permanent brain damage, as reported on Need to Know.
But he must remain in hospital to continue receiving treatment for “a long time”, according to local media.
According to his social media page, Mario is engaged.
The mayor of nearby Ficarazzi, where he lives, said: “For the whole community, this Easter Sunday was a double celebration.”
