A whistleblower nurse has accused two healthcare workers of switching charts in the folder of a woman who died after a “botched” boob job.
Raquel Tarjuelo died in agony in the operating room after a simple breast augmentation.
She left behind two children, aged 13 and nine.

Her widower, Armando Medina, told local media: “It was Raquel who insisted on doing it.
“She said she wanted to look better after giving birth to the two children.
“Even on the day of the surgery, we arrived there and I said to her, ‘Are you sure you want to do this?’
“Until that day, we were hesitant, I was very wary of her going into the operating room.”
The operation took place on 21 December 2018, as reported on Need to Know.
Armando was initially told it had gone well, but two hours later, Raquel started feeling dizzy and losing consciousness.
As blood poured into her lungs, the nurse tried to call in the on-call doctor but without success.
Eventually, the surgeon who had performed the op hours earlier came back.
He took the conscious woman to the operating room, but she was transferred to the ICU a short while later.
Her husband was only told that there had “been a problem.”
An internist later told him that his wife had had a cardiopulmonary arrest “that they hadn’t noticed”.
The autopsy later ruled that it had lasted 11 to 14 minutes without anyone noticing.
It is believed that Raquel’s lungs were punctured during the breast augmentation.
The case is now in court and a whistleblowing nurse is suggesting that there was a cover-up.
She told the judge in Pozuelo de Alarcón, Spain, on 12 February: “Two women dressed in surgical attire appeared.
“They took the patient’s folder, which was sealed, securely closed with some gauze.
“They opened it, removed two charts, inserted two others, and left.”
Raquel’s family has now filed a complaint for procedural fraud.
The surgeon, two internists, and an anaesthetist were already under investigation for medical negligence resulting in death.
A probe is now underway to discover the identities of the two women who allegedly switched the charts.
