A national team footballer has been hospitalised with second-degree burns after being splashed with a liquid believed to be acid.
Malaysia forward, Faisal Halim was assaulted after go-karting at a shopping centre in Petaling Jaya.
Shocking images show his skin stained black with the substance dissolving his T-shirt.

Local media say he was taken to a private hospital for treatment for his injuries, including ones to his face.
The 26-year-old’s condition is reportedly stable.

Unknown individuals carried out the horror attack on Sunday (5 May), as reported on Need To Know.
The Selangor Royal Office speculated that “football hooligans” may have been involved.
Police are currently seeking witnesses and trying to establish a motive.
They have asked anyone with information to come forward.
The top-flight club Halim plays for said in a statement: “Selangor FC view this matter seriously.

“We will cooperate with the police to facilitate their investigation into the case and find the person involved.”
The incident comes hot on the heels of an attack on Halim’s national teammate Akhyar Rashid.
Unknown individuals violently mugged the Terengganu FC forward for his wallet and phone as he got out of his car earlier last week.
The 25-year-old was taken to a hospital in Terengganu with blunt injuries to his head and body.

Following the attack on Halim, Selangor FC CEO Johan Kamal Hamidon reportedly received an acid attack threat.
Club head coach, Nidzam Jamil allegedly received a call from an unknown individual warning of the potential attack.
Hamidon has reported the threat to the police.
