A British lad has completely transformed his work van into a cosy camper in just two months with an £800 budget.
Carpenter Luke Curtis, from Plymouth, was itching to travel the UK with his girlfriend, Shannon Chance.
An avid surfer, he decided to kit out a 2013 Volkswagen Caddy, turning it into the ultimate beach holiday wagon.

The 20-year-old did most of the work himself, which included installing insulation, a fold-out bed and spotlights in the ceiling.
“I worked on it on most of my days off and every weekend – but it was worth it,” Luke told Need To Know.
“I am very pleased with the end result, I don’t really think anything could’ve gone better.
“I started with insulating, then cladding, lights, the bed, and I used mostly hand saws.”
Luke then added some curtains, posters, a knitted hanging basket and some fairy lights for decorative effect.
Despite working full-time, he found the project exciting.
He said: “It wasn’t too exhausting, it was actually quite rewarding and addictive.
“It was tricky in places but there’s lots of help on YouTube.
“I purchased the materials that I needed from B&Q, and also got stuff on eBay.
“My parents own a bigger camper van and I kept seeing videos on TikTok of them so I decided to build my own.”
Luke says his girlfriend Shannon, also aged 20, absolutely loves the van.
The couple have so far used it to travel to surfing hotspots in Cornwall and have adventures in Wales.
They’ve fitted a surfing board rack to the roof of the van and are planning on taking the ferry to France for their next trip.
Luke added: “Shannon was very pleased with the van.
“She said that it was even better than she imagined.
“Shannon helped me with the insulation as that part took a while.
“We’ve travelled around Cornwall and Wales so far.
“I wanted to have something that would make surfing around Cornwall a lot easier.
“My family are really proud of the work and think it’s pretty cool.”
To share her appreciation for her boyfriend’s handiwork, Shannon shared a before and after video to TikTok, which has racked up 5.5 million views.
The post also has over 500,000 likes, with plenty of reactions from social media users.
“Being able to build and make things is such a gift,” wrote one user.
“I want to do this soo bad !! Looks amazing,” said someone else.
Another person commented: “If a man ever does this for me I’m never leaving him.”
“Absolutely banging that, fantastic job,” someone else wrote.
The project began in November 2023, with the work finalised in January this year.
