A knifeman has been caught trying to slit a cop’s throat in a random attack.
CCTV images show a police officer talking to two residents in a quiet street.
The man who appears to be intoxicated, staggers towards them, and reaches into his pocket.

He makes a beeline for the officer, slashing at his neck before spinning on his heels and running down the road.
The cop reels back in shock and initially runs in the opposite direction.
Clutching the wound on his face, the officer watches the suspect flee the scene before being joined by a uniformed colleague.
The knife attack took place in Cachipay, located northwest of the Colombian capital, Bogotá, last Thursday (30 May).
A 65-year-old suspect, whose name has not been reported, was arrested by the authorities just minutes after the incident.
The police said the injured officer was carrying out a patrol in the area when the attack occurred.
The officer suffered a wound to his chin, as reported by Need To Know.
Police Chief Colonel, Amaury Aguilera López said the detained suspect was heavily intoxicated at the time of the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
