A bungling pilot got a flight cancelled minutes before take-off when they knocked down a pole while taxiing to the runway.
Footage filmed by a passenger shows how the left wing felled the lighting pole.
The bungle reportedly happened when the pilot took a wrong turn en route to the runway and entered a parking bay.

Not only did they break the pole but they also dented the plane’s wing, causing the Eva Air flight to be grounded for repair.

Weather, visibility, and signals were normal at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, at the time.
No one on board was injured and no other flights were disrupted, as reported on Need To Know.
However, all the affected passengers were made to disembark just after 4pm on Wednesday (3 Jul).
Another Boeing 777 had to be dispatched to the airport to take them to their destination in Taoyuan, Taiwan.
According to Taiwanese media, the passengers were taken to a hotel to rest and were provided with dinner.

One of the affected passengers recalled: “There was a big jolt and suddenly a loud noise, a very big sound.”
Another added: “We waited on the tarmac for about an hour before we got off the plane.”
It’s not clear how late the three-hour flight eventually reached its destination.
Eva Air has been approached for comment.
