A widow has fulfilled a long-standing wish by taking her high-school exams aged 94.
After decades of absence, nonagenarian Adela Moreno Ronquillo decided to go back to the classroom.
After finally sitting her exams, she was delighted when she received an excellent average mark of 9.2 out of 10.

Going back to school had long been on Adela’s mind.
She grew up in Valle de Allende, south of Chihuahua, Mexico.
Adela recalled: “I went to elementary school in Valle de Allende and then studied commerce with a private teacher, where I learnt spelling and maths.
“But I never went to high school, and the idea of continuing my education stayed with me.”
Adela is a widow and four of her five children are still alive, as reported on Need To Know.
When she told them she was going back to school in her nineties, they fully supported her decision.
She said: “They see that I’m enthusiastic.
“I encourage them, and I believe they can follow my example. At my age, I still enjoy studying, so they can keep going too.”
Adela resumed her studies at an adult education institute in nearby Hidalgo del Parral, Mexico.
Despite turning 95 on 28 August, she plans to continue learning.
She said: “I’ll take it slow since I don’t have the same freedom as before, but if it’s in God’s plan, I’ll keep going.”
