A light plane was forced to make an emergency landing on a motorway and was then hit by a lorry.
The pilot, who is said to be young English-speaking man but has not been identified by name or his exact age, was en route to a flying club at the time of the incident.
Noticing that the German aircraft was running out of fuel, he decided to land on the CS-22 highway.

When landing the plane, the pilot collided with a truck, as reported by local police.

Fellow drivers on the busy motorway rushed to help and paramedics were called.
The pilot suffered bruises and a nasty blow to the head, and was taken to Castellón General Hospital, according to local press.
The truck driver was treated by paramedics but remained relatively unharmed.

The Guarda Civil, Policia Nacional and the Policia Local attended the scene to clear the road and reopen the motorway.
