You may think of Prezzo as your local, usual Italian with the classic of a pepperoni pizza here, a carbonara there and some garlic bread on the side.
However, the 24 year old chain has upped their game this summer, bringing out some delicious, beautiful dishes to amp up your holidays.
With the UK set to hit highs of 35 degrees, they have everything from fruity salads and tasty tapas to creamy pastas and delectable pizzas.
And as a self-proclaimed foodie, I had to go try this out for myself

First off, we of course had to order a beverage each… I classically went with an Aperol Spritz, which (as a huge fan) was one of the best I have ever tasted.
My friend however ordered one of their new spritz range, called the Lemon & Elderflower Spritz – claiming it was one of the best cocktails she’d “ever had.”
For starters we went for the new mushroom and mascarpone arancini, described as: “Earthy wild mushrooms, leeks and mascarpone gently stirred through risotto, coated in breadcrumbs and fried until golden.”

This was served to us with mayonnaise and crisp sage leaves, which really added to the flavour and crunchy yet soft texture – from me a 10/10.
Secondly, we ordered the Prezzo meatballs, described as: “Classic pork and beef meatballs, served in a traditional tomato pomodoro sauce.”
These were then served to us with a drizzle of chive oil and toasted focaccia.

We both agreed that these meatballs were amazing, the taste, flavour and texture was all there.
For our mains we went for their new Pea & Goat’s Cheese Ravioli, because of the title we were extremely intrigued.
Prezzo describes this one as: “Spinach ravioli, filled with sweet peas and creamy goat’s cheese in a cacio e pepe sauce, finished with a drizzle of chive oil and pea shoots.”

The pasta was delectable, cooked to the perfect temperature and the filling, delicious.
However, the next main was out of this world
This was the their new Mushroom, Burrata & Truffle pinsa.

Pinsa is their classic dough is stretched into a rectangle and proved for longer, creating a Romano style base which is fluffier, deeper and according to them – ‘cloud like’.
They described the dish as: “Butter-roasted mushrooms on a white base of béchamel and mozzarella, topped with chives, black pepper and creamy Burrata.”
It was also served to us with a generous drizzle of truffle oil – which I much appreciate.
It was that amazing I have no words, chewy, soft, flavour-full, delicious – 10/10
To finish of our evening of fine dining, we of course had to try their Tiramisu.

Though we would have liked a slightly larger portion, the classic Italian tiramisu made of ladyfinger biscuits soaked in coffee, layered with rich mascarpone cream and marsala wine was the perfect end to a perfect evening.
Dusted with cocoa and filled with cream, we finished it off in seconds – a 100/10
Dessert lovers can also enjoy an array of new gelatos and sorbets with flavours including Vanilla, Mango, Chocolate and Raspberry.
I will sure be back for more, and couldn’t recommend the Aperol, Arancini, Pizza and Tiramisu enough.
Make sure you go and get your Italian fix this summer.
