A woman who disappeared two years ago has been found buried in a backyard.
Penni Whiteside was last seen in May 2022 and was reported missing.
Police report they found the 51-year-old’s body in June this year after receiving information that her remains may have been buried in a backyard under a fire pit.

Now, her former room mate, Sheridan Dirk Fogle, 54, from Orangeburg, South Carolina has been arrested and charged with murder, as reported by Need To Know.

A statement from Myrtle Beach Police explains that the incident reportedly occurred on 11 May 2022 in the 600 block of 1st Avenue South.
An extract of the statement read: “As stated in the original report the identified victim had been living with the offender.
“Further investigation revealed that due to statements made by her neighbors, there was reason to believe that she may have been buried near the residence, in the backyard under a firepit.”

On 12 June 2024, investigators obtained a search warrant for the property in question.
The statement continues: “During the search, the victim’s remains were recovered and identified.
“This is a tragic loss of life and a senseless crime of violence.

“Please continue to pray for the family and friends of the victim.
“The Myrtle Beach Police Department is committed to seeking justice and holding those accountable for those who do harm.
“Thank you to the U.S. Marshals Service- Carolina’s Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Orangeburg Department of Public Safety for assisting with the arrest in this case.”
A cause of death has yet to be revealed.
