The popular Italian has recently launched its Christmas set menu, and I’m here to tell you how it is.
Prezzo, a 24-year-old food chain, famous for its delicious pizza, pasta and appetizers has outdone itself for any Christmas lovers this year.
Recently launching their Christmas set menu, they have included a variety of products from the classic spaghetti bolognese to a gorgonzola & cranberry dough twist.
As a certified foodie myself, who loves both the classics and trying new dishes, I couldn’t turn down a visit to sample their new menu and let you in on what I really think.
First of, we started with the newly released pancetta mac & cheese croquettes and a portion of their meatballs, which feature on the normal menu.
When I say the mac and cheese bites were to die for… they really were.
Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, they each had the perfect ratio of pasta, cheese and crisp crumb coating.
The meatballs were also a hit, they came fresh and hot in a generous tomato, pomodoro sauce, a drizzle of chive oil and toasted focaccia bread.
While waiting for our mains we also ordered some beverages, I went for the morello cherry cooler while my partner went for their Ichnusa, a classic beer from Sardinia, Italy.
The cooler was beautifully refreshing, with cherry, cranberry juice, sparkling lime and lemon… it made the perfect mocktail.
Now for the mains.
I went for the prawn calabrese & burrata pizza, (yes, large), while my partner went for the spaghetti bolognese.
Starting with the classic, the bolognese was tender and flavoursome, paired with hand made pasta and topped with fresh basil.
If you’re looking for something simple, we would highly reccommend it.
I, on the other hand, thought I’d go for something new, and had what our waitress claimed to be their most popular pizza on the Christmas menu.
The prawns and burrata were a perfect match, with the soft cheese and seasoned tails, topped with a handful of rocket.
However, as much as the calabrese sauce base was delicious, it was a little bit heavy and strong for me.
So if you prefer a classic base on a pizza and nothing too powerfull, you could ask to swap it out for the regular, or simply go with one of their other Christmas menu doughs.
They also have a goats cheese & roasted pepper and a classic capricciosa, all of which can be made gluten free.
As much as we were both stuffed by this point, and even taking home leftovers… we made sure to have room to share at least one of their Christmas menu desserts.
So we decided to have their caramel macchiato sundae.
It came with two scoops of vanilla hackney gelato and we had the option to either have a shot of baileys or coffee – for us, we chose the coffee.
It was the perfect ending to the perfect meal, the soft, delicious ice cream with the punch of coffee and sweetness of salted caramel sauce, also topped with whipped cream and a Cadbury’s flake.
Lastly, the vibes and the restaurant was just fabulous, as well as the lovely, caring staff.
You can see Prezzo have put their all into festivities as we were surrounded with fairy lights, mistletoe and garlands.
We will definitely be back for more, and couldn’t recommend it enough.
Wether you want to go for their Christmas menu classics or branch out for the newbies – the choice is yours, but we’d recommend both 😉
