As Storm Darragh battered the UK over the weekend, one restaurant has been left without a roof after the deadly storm ripped it off.
Kerry Mansell was shocked after noticing pieces of Senor Dick’s restaurant in Newquay, Cornwall “flying all over the place”.
The local worker was on shift at Lost Brewing Co, a pub across the road, at the time of the incident.
In an effort to help, she rushed outside to collect scraps to avoid people getting hit.
In a photo, Kerry can also be seen posing with a piece of the roof.
One man narrowly avoided being struck by the restaurant’s flying debris, according to a local paper.
“The storm was wild,” she told Need To Know.
“Senior Dick’s roof went flying all over the place.
“It was terrifying!
“Tesco closed next door too.”
The footage, which shows the roof coming off the building while a bus passes by below, was filmed by Sean Griffin, the chef at Lost Brewing Co, who was also working at the time.
Storm Darragh battered the coastal town over the weekend.
Residents reported temporary traffic lights and trees falling down.
Senor Dick’s wasn’t the only property affected by the hurricane-force winds.
A local resident also took to Facebook to warn neighbours that her roof tiles were coming off.
Jam Press has contacted Senor Dick’s – which is currently closed – for comment.
