Elena was sitting on a bench eating some food from a white box using plastic cutlery.
The figure skater looked extremely different in comparison to her glamorous appearance in her heyday.
Elena now lives on the streets in downtown Monterrey, Mexico, accompanied by some dogs, as reported by Need To Know.

The ex-skater also previously worked as a teacher.
She had become a renowned ice skating teacher for exclusive sports clubs in San Pedro, Monterrey alongside her husband, Nikolay Suetov.
They also belonged to the State Winter Sports Association and the Mexican Federation of Ice Skating and Winter Sports, obtaining Mexican nationality.

Elena stood out for her talent on the ice between 1998 and 2001, when her career reached its peak.
She also had a place on the show ‘Holiday On Ice’, which originated in the US.
The young man who spotted her said: “Elena Gouliakova the Russian Trainer re-appears.
“I was walking through the Morelos passage, recognising a face of my childhood.

“Elena Gouliakova, who was once a star skater of the famous Holiday On Ice show, and who was married to the coach, her compatriot Nikolay Suetov, would exercise the profession of coach in the periods 1994-2010.
“Now, she wanders the streets surviving on the generosity of people and the handouts she can get.

“If you find her please do not hesitate to offer her a little of your help, and leave a hello, because she is kind, empathetic and loves to be surrounded by people.”
At the end of the post he added a note, writing: “Elena does not want to receive any kind of help with accommodation, nor to return to the world of figure skating.”
