AndyLoos has been in the portable toilet hire business for over 30 years.
They have supplied appliances to a whole host of events from the Cheltenham Gold Cup to Glastonbury Festival.
Amy Philpot, General Manager of the firm, in Banbury, Oxfordshire, said: “It’s bizarre.
“Why would someone target a portable toilet hire company when surely there’s more valuable things to be taken?
“To have a yard deliberately broken into is very unusual.
“Given how prepared they were, the vehicles they used and bringing their own toilet mover trolley and moving the units with ease we suspect it was someone very familiar with the toilet hire industry.
“We’re looking in the region of more than £10,000 to replace the equipment that they’ve stolen, which in today’s industry isn’t exactly something that we would like to be doing.”
Owner Richard Philpot said: “Breaking into a yard to deliberately steal toilets, I haven’t heard of that before.
“They brought their own toilet trolley with them to do it, so they were ready.”
The firm was targeted sometime between Wednesday January 8 and Thursday 9, as reported by Need To Know.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “We are investigating a burglary in which a number of portaloos, chemical fuel and piping were stolen from a business property in Thorpe Way, Banbury.
“Anyone with any information or who believes they witnessed the incident is urged to contact 101, quoting reference 43250012480.”
