A mystery poo-dunit has got murkier after a second portaloo firm was targeted by brazen thieves in just days.

Twenty-five of the bogs were nabbed by a hooded gang.

They used specialist trolleys to swipe the toilets.

It happened on Monday (13 Jan) in Badingham, near Ipswich, Suffolk.

Just three days earlier, on Friday (10 Jan), 13 of the loos worth £12,000 were also stolen 150 miles away in Banbury, Oxon.

Shaun Turner of Toilets+, whose Badingham depot was targeted, suspects the two raids may be connected.

“I think there could be a link,” he said.

“There were three similar-looking vehicles used in both crimes.”

After hearing of the second raid, Amy Philpot, General Manager of AndyLoos, Banbury, said: “We thought the raid on us was premeditated enough from how they acted.

“But now it definitely seems like a gang is at work.”

She also told Need To Know: “It sounds like it could be the same crew.

“We’ve never heard of it before now.

“But we’ve got six depots in total across the Midlands and south so we’re hoping they don’t hit another if they are going on a spree.”

A Suffolk Police spokesperson said: “Between 6.30 pm and 10.30 pm on 13 January it was reported that offenders broke into a business yard in Badingham.

“Where various items totalling thousands of pounds were loaded onto a lorry and a flatbed vehicle that had been driven onto the site, and these were then stolen.

“These included a number of portable toilets, a pump and a blue sack barrow.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Suffolk police quoting crime reference, 37/2291/25

“Currently there have been no arrests.”

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “We are investigating a burglary in which a number of portaloos, chemical fuel and piping were stolen from a business property in Thorpe Way, Banbury.

“Anyone with any information or who believes they witnessed the incident is urged to contact 101, quoting reference 43250012480.”

Cops are not currently linking the two thefts.
