Footage shows the phone thief apparently trying to end the call as he sped along a city street.
At one point, he held the phone to his jacket before attempting to end the video call again.
The alleged robbery took place in the Colombian capital Bogotá on Saturday (8 Feb).
After the suspect filmed his face, locals called on the authorities to identify him and bring him to justice, as reported by Need To Know.
One local appeared to blame the victim and said: “They all know the danger.

“And yet still go onto the street with their phones in their hands.”
Another said: “He has beautiful eyes.”
Jackson added: “If anyone finds it, it’s better to hand it over to the owner directly and not the authorities.”
Carlos said: “The sad thing is nothing will happen because the police rarely catch these people and let them go free when they do.”

David joked: “Seriously, that phone operator provides a great signal, the call didn’t cut out or pixelate one bit.”
