It kept going forwards and backwards as the thief gang appeared to try and find a car to target.
It then stopped near a dark people carrier and the pair of crooks jumped out.
Both were wearing Covid-19-style face masks and black jackets.
One had a hood up and the other was wearing a baseball cap.
One opened the back driver’s side door and swiped something from the back seat.
The other did the same from the front passenger side.
The driver and front seat passenger were in the vehicle at the time.
The getaway driver in the Mercedes hatchback then sped off when the two thieves got in.
It happened at the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara – a Sikh place of worship – in Park Avenue, Southall, west London on Friday (7 Feb).

Local Luke Stanger fumed: “Scum.”
Vik Singh added: “B*stards.”
Aveena Kaur added: “This has happened to my aunty in this car park too.

“As she left the car they opened her back door slightly.
“Then when she was out of sight they stole loose change and sunglasses.
“We need to protect our gurdwaras. If thieves can get this close, they will be inside soon enough.”
Jay Liddar said: “Even places of worship aren’t safe.”
One – named Steve – added: “Infuriating and deeply saddening to see this.

“What utter low lives.
“Places of worship are meant to be safe.”
The theft has been reported to cops, as reported on Need To Know.
A Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall spokesperson said: “We strongly condemn any form of criminal behaviour within our community.
“Rest assured, all our sites are equipped with comprehensive CCTV coverage to ensure the safety and security of the Sangat.
“Please remain vigilant, if you see anything suspicious, report it immediately.
“Together, we can help keep our community safe.”
The Met Police has been approached for comment.
